BBMM2011 includes accessible and affordable half day courses to help power boost music industry careers, and offers a £1,111.11 grant to a new, young music entrepreneur.

Music Biz Empowerment Monday Half-Day Courses
Accessible, affordable, short courses to empower and drive your music industry plans. Small classes, where you can get answers to your questions, improve your knowledge base and confidence. Led by seasoned music industry tutor Kwaku. In association with BTWSC and Akoben Awards.

Making Sense Of How The Music Industry Works & Preparing A Music Business Plan Workshop
Begins by explaining how the music industry works, in order to join the dots by understanding the various careers within the music industry, the functions of the key industry organisations, income streams, and rights. Led by music industry tutor Kwaku.

This is followed by a music business plan workshop led by music business adviser Boomy Tokan (The Music Business Coach). Participants are encouraged to bring their business ideas, and laptops, in order to start the process of writing their business plan or proposal during the workshop. In association with BTWSC and Akoben Awards.

For any budding entrepreneur, and those applying for the New Music Entrepreneur Grant’s 11:11:11:11:11:11 Challenge.

New Music Entrepreneur Grant’s 11:11:11:11:11:11 Challenge.
Akoben Awards is offering an NME grant of £1,111.11 plus free music industry mentoring, to a new music industry entrepreneur aged 18-25 of African descent. Selection is based on submission of a short plan/proposal of on how you’d find, sign, market and release a record or launch a music industry product or service with a maximum budget of £1.111.11.

That’s the 11:11:11:11:11:11 Challenge – you must be ready to launch on Friday November 11 2011 at 11:11:11. It’s a grant, which means you do not have pay back if the project does not make a profit, but if it makes a profit, a minority share goes to Akoben Awards. In assocition with The Music Business Coach.
