Matylda Setlak owns Setlak PR - PR and ethnic marketing agency that specialises in targeting Eastern European community in the UK. Since 2006, she has been providing consultation to British privately-owned and government organisations on how to reach Eastern Europeans in the UK, especially Poles.

Q1: What has been your main inspiration in media?

A1: Anthony Robbins is amazing, also Earl Nightingale, Oprah Winfrey and Marta Steward.

Q2: Who was your childhood media hero?

A2:Ryszard Kapuściński, a Polish journalist, writer and photographer, the author of The Soccer War and The Emperor.

Q3: What has been your most exciting time in media so far in your career?


A3:Running my own PR and ethnic marketing agency that specialises in targeting Eastern European community in the UK. This year for example we were promoting Polish Spring-Scottish Tides festival, that was a part of Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations.


Q4: If you could do any job in media, what would it be?

A4: a columnist in a glossy women’s magazine

Q5: If you didn't get into media what career would of you been in today?

A5: a writer
  Experience  

1) Setting up and running a PR and ethnic marketing agency in a foreign country, 10 months after arrival!
2) Working for international clients, such as: Maexpa International and Morodo.


3) Running a workshop for the Gangmasters Licensing Authority on how to communicate with the Poles who live in the UK.


4) Obtaining three university degrees: journalism and communications studies, advertising and PR, and history from the renowned Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.


  Achievements  
1) Being a truly happy wife

2) Buying a stunning house in Cambridgeshire before I am 30

3)Having a circle of amazing friends who inspire me.


  Future Goals  
Future goals (career or non-career):

Non-career: have two lovely children, travel to Japan and USA, have a beautiful house in Krakow, Poland. Career goals - let me keep them in secret 

Hobbies:

Reading books on psychology and business, swimming
