Adeela was born in Bristol in 1972. She has lived and worked in Bristol all her life. Having attended the local schools and college Adeela went to Bristol University obtaining a degree in Psychology. Adeela is the only female Muslim Parliamentary Candidate for the Conservatives in the country and hopes to be an inspiration for more young people from all backgrounds and walks of life to join politics.
Q1: What has been your main inspiration in Politics?
A1: The whole political system, its structure, the history, the crucial role it plays in everyone’s live, the pitfalls…all of it!
Q2: Who was your childhood Political hero?
A2: Sad to say I did not have a particular one, but Margaret Thatcher had some guts!
Q3: What has been your most exciting time in politics so far in your career? A3: Learning about people’s views on the various domestic and world issues. It has been genuinely exciting to hear them. You can learn so much. People start talking to you about some of their strongest views that they would never touch on if you were not a politician. I am also surprised that people know more than they care or dare to admit!
Q4: If you could do any job in politics, what would it be?
A4: The Foreign Secretary. It is a role that requires you to be sensitive of cultural differences and to be aware of the discreet but influential role this plays in the decision making process in when dealing with different countries.
Q5: If you didn't get into politics what career would you been in today?
A5: I would continue in the field of education. I would like to do a Masters in forensic psychology.
