Boxing sensation Amir Khan will launch No Messin’ Live! a national campaign to get kids off the railway tracks and reduce the number of resulting deaths and injuries.
MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE LAUNCH AT BOLTON TRAIN STATION.
AMIR KHAN WILL BE PRESENT FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND GATHERING FOOTAGE FROM 1-1:15PM.
ONE-TO-ONE INTERVIEWS WITH AMIR WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY.
AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW WILL BE A NETWORK RAIL SPOKESPERSON AND A YOUNG PERSON PERSONALLY AFFECTED BY A RAIL ACCIDENT.
Each year up to 60 people are killed and hundreds injured either crossing the tracks, taking shortcuts, messing around or playing chicken.
Network Rail, who are behind the campaign, are running a series of free-to-attend events across England, Wales and Scotland this summer offering young people the chance to try out alternative activities to risking their lives on the tracks.
The tour kicks off in July and runs through the summer holidays and is free to enter for all local children aged ten to sixteen. The event will be centred around sport, games and music and will give young people the opportunity to try out a range of activities from skateboarding to DJ lessons which they will be encouraged to continue after the tour has moved on. There are 10 No Messin’ Live! events taking place throughout the summer.
