Fine Bone china

“Beautiful fine bone china tableware and giftware inspired by Caribbean fruit and flowers”

Jenny Mein, founder of Jenny Mein Designs, has re-launched a stunning new website to showcase her exclusive new fine bone china collection, “Breadfruit” inspired by the British Captain William Bligh of the Mutiny on the Bounty fame who introduced the breadfruit to Jamaica in the 18th century.

The “Breadfruit” complements the “Jamaican Ackee” china collection. A further collection “Caribbean Garden” will be launched in Spring 2013. The website is ever-expanding and offers a lifestyle service showcasing some of her exquisite range of china. It also reflects Mein’s previous occupation as food editor on an international lifestyle and travel magazine in London with a selection of her imaginative and delicious recipes.

Jenny Mein launched her debut china collection, the “Jamaican Ackee” in 1998 at the prestigious Jamaica Expo Trade Fair at Olympia, London and was so delighted with the marvellous response to the china that she decided to set up Jenny Mein Designs. The china is produced exclusively under patent and finished to the highest standard using traditional methods in Stoke-on-Trent, England, home of the British china industry. The collection includes coffee mugs, salad plates, delicate pill boxes, fruit bowls, jugs, square candy dishes and is ideal for special gifts, birthdays/anniversaries or sumptuous dinner sets for the stylish home. Jenny Mein fine bone china now grace the homes of people from all walks of life and include British celebrities such as the television actors, Dawn French and Lenny Henry, Dianne Abbott, MP, the Jamaican Ambassadors’ residences both in Washington D.C and London, UK. Special commemorative pieces from the collection were sent to Prince William and Kate on their wedding last summer and as mementoes of their many happy holidays in the Caribbean.

Jenny Mein has been featured in the Style Observer section of the Jamaica Observer newspaper during the Olympics in London 2012 showing photographs of the china collections in the courtyard garden at 16 Sumner Place, South Kensington. She has also been featured in the list “The Best of Style Observer 2012” of the Jamaica Sunday Observer of 30th December 2012 edition.

Jenny Mein is committed to designing good-quality, affordable china which is fresh and contemporary yet classic and steeped in tradition. Jenny Mein designs are inspired by her beautiful colonial childhood family garden on an old sugar plantation in Jamaica where English roses flourished amongst tropical flora and fauna.
