Straight talking from the heart

Straight talking from the heart

As the run up to Christmas begins the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is launching a series of health adverts targeting London BME communities, to help them consider their heart health over the festive season.

Actor and voice artist Colin McFarlane, who is currently starring in BBC 1 Reggie Perrin, and is also the infamous voice of the ITV game show “The Cube” has kindly put his distinctive vocals to a series of four adverts that explore, salt, smoking, physical activity and losing weight. The adverts which are being aired on Colourful Radio for 4 weeks each will finally conclude in February 2011.

Colin explains why he is supporting this initiative:

“I am delighted to lend my support to these radio adverts. Everyone needs to be aware that they may be at risk of coronary heart disease. That’s why it’s important to make awareness a priority to help reduce the risks and also help provide support. I hope these adverts will act as a catalyst to help encourage the African Caribbean community to make the necessary lifestyle changes to live a full and active life.”

The campaign aims to make a real connection with everyone across London to make them more aware and to encourage them to contact the BHF for heart health or lifestyle support and guidance on the Heart helpline 0300 330 3311 or visit bhf.org.uk.
