Olumide Solanke is a man with a vision – a Vision to motivate and inspire thousands of Black and ethnic minority young professionals in the UK with his magazine, Ninety Nine.

In this in-depth and entertaining interview, Rhoda Wilson learns about the man behind this publication and what inspired him to begin his journey into the media.

Olumide is a solicitor by profession with a vey strong passion for magazine publishing. Ninetynine magazine was launched after 2 years of research and with his team he aimed to raise the level of aspirations in the black community. They do this by featuring black role models in the UK and some whom you would not normally see on TV. By doing so, Ninetynine hopes to put to rest the debate surrounding the number of black role models in the UK. According to their research there are thousands of them, at the top of their careers, businesses and personal lives.

Ninetynine Magazine is also a general lifestyle magazine with features on relationships, books, music, fashion and beauty, food and history. The magazine is bimonthly and can be purchased at selected newsagents and bookshops across London.

Rhoda Wilson will be one of the featured role models in the Christmas edition of Ninetynine magazine.
