Asian Lite to launch two health publications

Asian Lite, the UK’s leading publication for the British-Asian community, is launching two new quarterly publications titled Asian Lite Health and Asian Lite Doctor on November 16.

Asian Lite Health will contain informative articles to help readers lead a healthy lifestyle. NHS studies show that people from South Asian communities can be up to six times more likely to have diabetes than the general population. The death rate from coronary heart disease is higher among south Asian men and women. Asian Lite Health will also carry articles on heart diseases, organ donation, promoting daily exercise, balanced diet, renal health, eye diseases and reproductive medicine. Print run will be 30,000 and copies will be distributed along with Asian Lite Newspaper.

As the name implies, Asian Lite Doctor will be a comprehensive journal to provide a platform for the entire medical community from the Indian subcontinent to share their views, values and visions. The magazine has been designed on three ethos of modern journalism – inform, educate and entertain. The articles will focus on new developments in the Medical Sector in the UK and Indian subcontinent.

There will be special pages to monitor the developments in various medical departments to help readers to keep abreast of the latest information to improve their knowledge in different fields. Every edition will carry general articles and case reports.

Asian Lite Doctor will be a new forum for doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals besides researchers to share unique information on common and rare conditions. Asian Lite Doctor will dedicate certain pages to promote cultural activities in the community. Every edition will carry a profile of a doctor who has excelled in the cultural field. There will be special pages to cover alumni meetings. Print run will be 10,000 and copies will be available at pharmacies, GP surgeries, hospital libraries, hospital canteens, libraries, universities, medical colleges and direct mailing.
