A majority stake holding in the magazine was purchased by a group of investors last year, headed by IT entrepreneur Pali Banwait, who runs a number of successful businesses including Asian D8 and ChilliTickets.
Commenting on the show Pali said: “We are extremely pleased with the success of the Birmingham show, and the feedback from both the exhibitors and delegates has been incredibly positive. Since becoming involved in the magazine we have invested heavily in growing the business online; earlier this year we launched the Asian Bride app and are the first Asian bridal magazine to be available to download via the App store.”
Pali added: “We see the events arm of the business as another key area for growth, which has been reinforced through the success of both the London and Birmingham shows. We have already confirmed a second exhibition and fashion show in London and are in the process of finalising Birmingham for next year.”
Asian Bride Live is the first major event for Monsoon Venue Group; partners for Asian Bride Live Birmingham. Directory of MVG Pav Shergill, who only just launched the specialist venue and event management agency in June last year, quoted “the exhibition has without a doubt been an overwhelming success and I’m very pleased Pali and the Asian Bride team decided to bring the show to the ICC. Monsoon Venue Group is a unique business model as we very much work in partnership with our venues to manage everything from the sales and marketing of Asian events right through to the delivery on the day, providing the customer with a seamless and insightful service throughout. Working with Asian Bride Magazine to jointly organise and host the show has been a great way to launch MVG as a new business entering the industry, and showcase the ICC Birmingham as a potential venue for Asian weddings.”
After their resounding success in the Midlands, the Asian Bride team will return to host their flagship event at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith on Sunday 12th October 2014. With two phenomenal events under their belt, this team is set to change the face of the Asian wedding industry so keep a close eye on them in the coming months.
