2010 Chardham Yatra is on the verge of starting from May 15 and will go on till Mid November

Kedarnath at the head of the Mandakini River is a very sacred pilgrimage of the Hindus. It is located at the height of 11,742 ft (3580 m), is a famous pilgrim site for Lord Shiva devotees.

Finally the Chardham Yatra heads towards Badrinath in Uttarakhand. The temple is surrounded by 2 ranges named ‘Nar’ and ‘Narayan’. The holy temple is surrounded by the mountain ranges and the nearest mountain is known as ‘Neelkantha’ peak. This temple is regarded as ‘the abode of Lord Vishnu’. The temple is situated at the height of 3,133 meters. The temple stands on the banks of river Alakananda. The thermal spring near the temple is one of the major attractions and it is here that the visitors freshen up, earlier than going for the puja.
