FA Level 1 Coaching Course Big Success

FA Level 1 Coaching Course Big Success

The BCFA joined forces with Europe’s leading broadband and home company TalkTalk, leading manufacturer and supplier of football equipment Mark Harrod, Internationally successful Asian music production company Rishi Rich and Sports Animation software specialists GamePlanner to host a subsidised FA Level 1 Coaching Course which all candidates successfully passed

The Coaching Course was held alongside Kick It Outs One Game One Community week of action. One Game, One Community is one of the most prominent equality and community engagement initiatives in the country which sees the game’s biggest names stand alongside communities across the UK under the banner ‘One Game, One Community’
We at the BCFA alongside our sponsors hosted an extremely successful FA Level 1 Coaching Course last week for the Birmingham BME community which met our objectives of encouraging the inner city communities to get on the coaching ladder.
Pam from Smethwick, now a qualified FA Level 1 Coach said ‘ I am very delighted with gaining this certificate and thankful for those involved putting on the course which gave me this opportunity in becoming a qualified coach. With this qualification I am going to encourage Asian women in particular to get in the game like me. Asian woman are still fairly invisible but I am confident that this will slowly change once more push is given in getting them to take part which I will help do’
As another direct success of the course the BCFA have also already enlisted 5 of the candidates on a forthcoming FA Level 2 course which will further enhance the communities football.
Candidates on the course were also given the opportunity to speak to key figures in the footballing community with the likes of Walsall Football Clubs, Asian prodigy Netan Sansara, Asian Bhangra Artist H Dhami who has been helping encourage the Asian community to Get into Football, and the FA’s Brendon Batson who works primarily into encouraging participation in football from the ethnic community coming to show their support.

Netan said ‘It was good to come down and show my support to this course as it’s great to see the BME community make proactive steps to get into the game. In many circumstances barriers such as cost has hindered the inner city community in particular in getting their coaching qualifications so holding this subsidised course has given these people the opportunity to get involved, which is fantastic’.

The BCFA would like to once again thank all the sponsors which made this course happen. Talk Talk, Mark Harrod, Rishi Rich and Gameplanner
