Patanjali Yog Peeth UK Trust is a UK-based Registered Charity promoting healthy living and wellbeing in the Community through yoga. Over the last 4 years, Patanjali Yog Peeth UK Trust (PYPT) have been conducting free Yoga classes in the UK and successfully introduced hundreds of thousands of people to live a healthier life and keeping fit. Our inspiration comes from the teachings of the world renowned Hindu Spiritual Leader & Yoga Guru – Swami Ramdev, who has a following of over 80 million people worldwide and whose TV show in India attract more than 20 million daily.
Swami Ramdev has dedicated his life for the betterment of humanity and the community. We honour his work and integrity, his embrace of cultural differences, contribution to social inclusion, community regeneration and cohesion, interfaith relations and race relations throughout the world. Swami Ramdev promotes harmony and understanding, and empowering others to follow in their pursuit of worthwhile endeavours. Swami Ramdev is an inspiration to others.
Swami Ramdev’s impact in India as well as in USA, Canada, UK and parts of Africa is without doubt inspiring – he has revolutionised Yoga, leading to millions of people incorporating it in their daily routines with businesses taking yoga breaks and schools making it a part of their daily assemblies. Under his guidance, a large number people have claimed to have improved health and found relief from stress and persistent ailment.
In line with the charity’ mission PYPT is committed to improving the health and daily lifestyle of the people of the UK. PYPT wish to propagate Yoga as a "free" medicine through in-depth research in accordance with the parameters of modern medical science, so that everyone may avail its benefits in order to attain sound health. Furthermore, if possible we intend to create an environment in the departments of Health, Education, Communities, Armed Forces, Industry and Business to inspire them to adopt Yoga as a regular and necessary practice for preventative and curative healthcare and to educate on establishing a healthy lifestyle.
By furthering the benefits of Yoga, PYPT believe that we can aim to build bridges between communities by establishing a healthy environment that creates greater understanding towards diverse cultures, social environments and religious beliefs. Health includes not only the physical body but also spiritual, mental, and self-discipline – “Good Health is Humanity’ Birthright” and we firmly believe that everyone can achieve a healthy lifestyle through Yoga.
In April 2010, His Holiness Swami Ramdev along with more than 50 prominent Hindu Spiritual Leaders, including His Holiness Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj (Muniji), Sant Shree Morari Bapu, Pujya Rameshbhai Oza, and the exiled Tibet spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, joined hands in Haridwar during the Maha Kumbh mela for the blessing ceremony to mark the launch of the landmark publication of the Encyclopaedia of Hinduism, which took more than 15 years for compilation.
