The brand new Tamarai lunch menu features dishes from different Asian regions and is very reasonably priced with dim sum starting at £3, skewers from £4, salads from £5 and curries from just £12.50. The full range of dim sum for £15 is an excellent choice. Be it for a quick express lunch, a leisurely client business meeting or the ultimate pit stop to recharge one’s batteries after a morning spent perusing through the neighbouring Floral Street boutiques, Tamarai is sure to become the ultimate Covent Garden lunchtime destination. What’s more, guests can also be treated to a complimentary neck and shoulder massage and goody bags from Elemis – part of the ‘Lunch Therapy’ promotion.
As well as launching its new lunchtime offering, Tamarai now has a brand new Winter a la carte menu. Chef Manish has over the years travelled extensively across Asia, visiting the many different countries that make up this culinary paradise and taking inspirations from his travels to create this stunning new menu. His hand picked team of experts at Tamarai includes a master chef from Chettinad and specialist dim sum chefs.
Dishes from the new Winter a la carte menu include: Beef and Foie Gras pot stickers; Braised Lamb Shank, malay curry, cherry tomatoes; Caramel Pepper King Prawns, golden garlic; Sweet Chilli Lotus Root, chives, fresh coriander; Mud Crab and Pomelo, galangal, palm sugar; Chocolate Banana Spring roll, chilled kumquat mousse.
As well as the brand new Winter food menus, Tamarai also has a newly devised 130 bin wine list, specially selected to work perfectly with the different types of cuisine. It was a labour of love for its creator, Tim Atkin, MW, who has chosen the wines specifically to accompany the fine selection of regional Asian dishes.
In addition, Tamarai also has a post 10 P.M. Supper Club Menu, perfectly suited for after theatre dining. The Supper Club Menu, priced at £35 for 3 courses (one course from each of the menu sections) is a lower cost alternative to the already popular chefs tasting menu, which features 9 courses at £48 (both offerings are available for vegetarians too). The late night menu combines a range of light and fragrant dishes that are perfect for the discerning night owl. The supper club menu with its perfect balance of nourishment and indulgence will set up Tamarai’s designer clad clubber for a night of dancing.
Tamarai is a dynamic venue and a space that can be transformed to suit different moods and different times of the day. Apart from the restaurant and bar, Tamarai houses an art gallery, with screens showcasing visual, new media, digital art photographs as well as short and feature films. Later on, as evening turns to night time, Tamarai transforms into a club, bringing back memories of the times when guests could dine and then move to the dance floor. Tuesdays and Thursdays feature live jazz. On other days music by visiting DJs and specially commissioned visuals created by video artist Jean Pierre Dangmann add to the very special atmosphere at Tamarai making it one of West End’s most unique and inspiring venues.
