Cleone Foods has added the Jamaican style Jerk Chicken recipe to its ‘Island Delight’ range available both as a traditional Caribbean pattie and as bite size cocktails great for parties and an ideal alternative treat from those traditional Christmas nibbles.
The Jerk Chicken patties and cocktails can be brought frozen or chilled and are made from tender pieces of chicken marinated in the vibrant flavours of a traditional Jamaican Jerk recipe of spices, onions and peppers.
Cleone Foods, based in Birmingham, produces more than 100,000 patties and slices a week from its state of the art factory and has been bringing the traditional Jamaican style recipes and short crust pastry meals to UK tables for 20 years.
It has launched the new ‘Jerk Chicken’ in response to the growing popularity of Caribbean style food.
“We are always looking to extend our products to meet demand and Jerk Chicken has become very popular, not just with people from a Jamaican background but with people of all ethnicities that want to try something different,” said Wade Lyn founder of Cleone Foods.
“The traditional foods of Christmas will always be enjoyed but you can have too much turkey so we feel sure that our Jerk Chicken cocktails will make an ideal change for parties and social events.”
The company that employs 60 people sells to outlets throughout the UK including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison stores.
