Havana Is Coming To Glasgow’s Old Fruit Market With An Exclusive Event For One Night Only

Havana Is Coming To Glasgow

“…gets under your skin and into your soul.”

Cuba is coming to the Glasgow Fruit Market in spectacular style in February with Havana Club. After the success of ‘Piece of Havana 2006’ and unprecedented demand The authentic Cuban rum will be returning to Glasgow recreate ‘a piece of Havana’ with an exclusive night of music, rum and raw passion at The Old Fruit Market on 24th February 2007.

The Old Fruit Market will be transformed into a genuine Havana street-scene for the event, evoking the faded grandeur of the sights, sounds and smells of one of the hottest cities on the planet. Turning up the temperature on the night and bringing a blast of laid back Cuban spirit to the city, Triangular Oscuro, Cuba’s top Hip Hop band, plus the amazing DJ Armando and percussionists, are being flown direct from Cuba by Havana Club exclusively for the event.

Guests will be treated to complimentary authentic Cuban Cocktails made exclusively with Havana Club – the ‘Authentic Cuban Rum’. The selection of cocktails will focus on the Cuban classics such as the Mojito and the Cuba Libre, served at a replica of Havana’s most famous hostelry, the legendary El Floridita Bar – the cradle of the Daiquiri.

Nothing goes with Havana Club rum quite like a real Cuban cigar. On the night, guests will be able take home their very own bespoke hand rolled cigar, expertly made by Mr Maikel Dario, from the prestigious Cohiba factory in Havana.

The spectacular set will feature an exhibition of black and white images by leading specialist Cuban and Latin photographer James Sparshatt. James’ work is mainly figurative, capturing the richness and vibrancy of Havana life. Filled with passion and emotion, his stunning photographs reflect his long-term love affair with Cuba. A book of these images is currently in production in conjunction with Havana Club.

To have the chance of attending this money can’t buy hot ticket event and experiencing a Piece of Havana for themselves, potential guests must register for a place on the exclusive guest list on www.pieceofhavana.com
