Young, Fresh African Designers set to Make their Mark during London Fashion Week!

Nigerian born designer Ngozi Pere-Okorotie also known as Zi and Ugandan based designer Gloria Wavamunno are set to rock London Fashion Week with their outstanding African print pieces with a western twist.

After having showcased in Johannesburg for African Fashion Week in 2009, Ugandan designer Gloria Wavamunno then went on to have her work featured on the prestigious African focused magazine Arise. Creating stunning collections inspired by her heritage, GW’s style focuses on the use of African Fabrics that are transformed into unique modern pieces of clothing that one could say are stylish, contemporary African wear.

Zed Eye’s pieces proved to be a big hit last season with the likes of Shingai Shoniwa (The Noisettes) and singer Kelis all having worn designs from her Tribal Romance range. The contrast in fabrics, texture and designs is a key concept that can be found in Zed Eye’s designs.

Since her last collection, Zi has been a busy bee having recently opened her showroom in Greenwich, London, styled for The K.B show on SKY channel 199 and has been interviewed by the Marketing Guru herself, Kubi Springer.

Both designers will showcase their designs during London Fashion Week on the 19th (Gloria Wavamunno) and 20th February (Zed Eye) from 7.30pm at the Charing Cross Hotel, Strand.

Both designers are also currently in the UK and available for Interviews.
