The Ethnic Fashion Show is a concept envisioned to promote ‘Ethnic garments’ as an essential component of the mainstream fashion landscape. Showcasing the work of 6 up and coming designers who utilize a mixture of African, Indian and/or Oriental patterns and ideas, it presents the audience with an opportunity to view fashion with another perspective. This ties with Momentum’s goal of generating awareness to fashion’s major players that a diversity of designs, fabrics and patterns will satisfy more fashion forward customers.
As a high profile event, Momentum’s Ethnic Fashion Show provides designers with a platform to showcase their designs to fashion’s elite figures. The 6 fashion designers who presented their work during the first Ethnic Fashion Show received priceless media coverage which meant exposure to a wide range of audiences. These 6 designers also got offered opportunities which they could only have dreamt of before.
