Angela Kilday, spokesperson for Cancer Research UK said: “Cancer Research UK currently spends over £27 million each year in Scotland alone on world-class research to improve understanding of the disease and find out how to prevent, diagnose and treat different kinds of cancer.
“This vital research would not be possible without the kind support of Oceanic Consulting, who have nominated Cancer Research UK as their beneficiary charity at the Scottish Asian Wedding Show, for which we are extremely grateful.
“We hope that the event is a great success.

The Eastern Eye Scotland Scottish Asian Wedding Show in association with Asian Women and Asian Bride will be used as a platform for Cancer Research UK to help people to understand cancer, the progress we are making and the choices each person can make.
The city of Glasgow will play host to the first ever Scottish Asian Wedding Show on the 3rd of May in Hampden Park. Eastern Eye Scotland Scottish Asian Wedding Show in association with Asian Women and Asian Bride encompasses a bridal show during the day and in the evening a spectacular fashion show and a sumptuous dinner. The event will be an exhilarating fusion of Eastern heritage and contemporary Western influences providing the modern bride with a fairytale of vendors and exhibitors at her fingertips.
This Eastern Eye Scotland Scottish Asian Wedding Show provides a forum for exhibitors to showcase their products and services to potential customers, bringing vendors and couples together during one of the busiest wedding seasons of the year, thus providing a solution that satisfies the needs of both parties. With Asian weddings being grander than ever before wedding planning can be a daunting prospect, we hope that by bringing the experts under one roof, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the professionals who can give them the advice and reassurance that they really need.
Throughout the day Cancer Research UK’s presence will be felt at the event as they man an exhibition stand and distribute information. Their stand will also host the ‘Win a Wedding’ competition in association with Hampden Park and Saffron Hospitality – all proceeds from the raffle tickets will be gifted to the charity.
