Stars come out to celebrate fifty years of Nigeria gaining independence

A golden line up of international and home-grown stars will be performing at Ocean Music Arena to celebrate fifty years of Nigeria as an independent nation on Saturday 2nd October 2010.

Flying all the way in from Nigeria are Jaywon, Kas & Essence, who will be joined by British Nigerian artists Tinie Tempah, Skepta, Black Twang, JJC and many more. Comedy and hosting will be provided by Eddie Kadi and Jazzy Phizzle.

Over 2,000 guests are expected at the East London venue, which has been dubbed one of the UK’s largest independence celebrations. The event is being organised by BEN TV, Rich Promotions, and Young Naija UK in conjunction with MoneyGram International.

Femi Amusan, one of the main organisers, commented: “We are delighted to be able to provide a platform for young men and women across the UK, who have become so in touch with their cultures, to celebrate such an important milestone. It has become an event not just for Nigerians but for a generation who have embraced the rich tapestry of a multicultural Britain.”
