Muslims Prepare For 2nd Annual EidFest Celebration And Charity Event

Andalus Media Group, LLC, a multimedia company that develops and promotes Islamically oriented special events, will present their second annual EidFest! Celebration at the Nash Theatre on the beautiful campus of Raritan Valley College in Somerville, NJ Sunday, October 21st from 12pm-6pm

Founders of Andalus Media Group, LLC, Dasham K. Brookins (aka Brother Dash) and Hasan Johnson, said that they came up with the idea for EidFest! after thinking of ways to combine the celebratory part of the holiday with Islamically oriented music, comedy and poetry in a religiously appropriate way. “EidFest!” offers Muslims and friends of the Muslim community, a unique opportunity to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a month where Muslims fast during daylight hours, and engage in extra acts of fellowship, charity and worship”, said Brookins.

The day starts at 12pm with a bazaar featuring a wide assortment of Islamic merchandise and activities for children including face painting, a clown, electronic game stations, a children’s play, henna art and appearances by Islamically oriented children cartoon character, Camali (see www.Camali.tv). The concert starts at 3pm featuring some of today’s most popular Muslim entertainers and the most diverse musical talent ever on stage for an Islamic event.

There will be traditional nasheeds by The Travelers, Zafar Razzacki from the hugely popular group 786, soulful Islamic sounds from the #1 Nasheed soloist in the U.K. Khaleel Muhammad, Muslim comedy from the Allah Made Me Funny comedian Mohammed Amer, Islamic Hip-Hop and Islamic Reggae from London’s own Mecca2Medina and the event will be hosted by the most widely seen and heard Muslim Spoken Word poet in the world, Brother Dash. All of the artists bring this amazing talent without the use of wind or string instruments by incorporating a creative blend of voice and percussion. A brief “silent” fundraiser will be held during the concert to raise funds for Darul Arqam Elementary & High School, a local Islamic school located in South River, NJ.
