Music Across Borders - a new live global music night at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts

One of the most dynamic arts centres in the UK is launching a new night of live global music featuring musicians from across the country and abroad.

Paul Anderson who was recently honoured for his work in carnival by being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) is the CEO of the UK Centre for Carnival Arts (UKCCA) and he recognises the creative and social power of UKCCA to inspire and change lives. One of the centres’ new and inspiring events is Music Across Borders (MAB), which aims to change the face of live music in Luton by showcasing some of the most talented world musicians. MAB is about bringing the sounds and voices of artists to an audience who want to be entertained and experience something different.

“Music Across Borders (MAB) presents music from national and international artists who are creating some of the most exciting and dynamic music today. UKCCA with its’ partners Journey To The Heart and MAPZ will be presenting music born out of repression, struggle yet music that is born to be free. Expect audiences to hear music that exists across borders.” Paul Anderson MBE (CEO – UKCCA)

MAB will be launched at the Mas Café in the heart of UKCCA on Friday 25th March by critically acclaimed singer and songwriter Laye Sow from Senegal, who has previously performed at some of the most prestigious venues and events in the UK including the Festival Hall, National Theatre, WOMAD and Glastonbury. MAB will continue in April with performances by Norman Stewart & The Maestros Trio who will have audiences dancing to the sweet sounds of pan music on the 8th and Kadialy Kouyate and his 5 piece band who will be performing beautiful songs from his West African heritage on the 22nd. Every night the House DJ will play the funkiest soulful world music vibes to keep audiences in the mood for dancing and partying.
