Enjoy some fantastic jazz and world music for free at the Royal Albert Hall. Taking place most Friday lunchtimes in the Hall’s Café Consort, the ignite series is crammed full of fantastic music from gypsy jazz to Argentinean tango. This series will feature hotly tipped group Portico Quartet as well some ignite favourites including Guerillasound and Nois4.

The series takes place from 12 noon until 1.30pm. What better way to start your weekend!

The upto date listings for this season are:

Las Morochas (Friday 29 February) – Flute and guitar duo from Argentina encompassing tango, folk, jazz and contemporary classical music
Portico Quartet (Friday 7 March) – Blurring contemporary jazz with modern classical and featuring the unmistakable sound of the ‘hang’, a melodious hand drum
Guerillasound (Friday 28 March) – Cool jazz as played in the clubs afterhours, without constraints
Nois 4 (Friday 4 April) – Subtle interpretations of the Brazilian songbook alongside original material
Southern Tenant Folk Union (Friday 11 April) – Skilled and experienced purveyors of folk, bluegrass and country
Craig Schneider Trio (Friday 18 April) – A dazzling mixture of jazz standards and original compositions with piano & vocals, bass and drums
Tomas & Maria (Friday 25 April) – Duets of guitar and castanets celebrating the sound of flamenco
