So with a fervent fanbase engaging with him and waiting for the full single to be released, Nafees and his team are poised to launch an artist with a solid gameplan.
In his own words,
“Growing up, I loved music. All sorts of music, soul, classical, Indian, Qawaali, Pop…anything with soul.
I never thought that I’d be creating a life for myself making music. Up until two years ago my life didn’t have a focus. I grew up in a small part of Bedfordshire and moved to Manchester 2 years ago. My lifelong passion for music gave me an opportunity, a purpose and a dream.
I was encouraged by a number of people within the music industry 2 years ago and here I am today presenting my music and making it happen.
Alongside my very close friend, Usman, we began working on my album and he wrote my first track, ‘Teri Yaadon Mein’ which now has a great following. This song signified the end of a long journey and a beginning of another.
Seeing my vision become a reality has been difficult but also rewarding. Having no tutor or mentor it’s been a big learning curve for me. But thankfully, the love and support of my family and fans has got me to where I am today. I’ve always used music as escapism, to help me through the good and the bad times. I hope to create music to connect with people’s emotions, and be as big of an influence in their lives as it has been for me.
It’s time to look to the future and never to look back. My music is my story”.
To cater for the burgeoning fanbase, the single ‘Mehmaan’ will be available to buy right away from this Friday on iTunes. In tune with the changing consumer culture, the camp will be making music to buy and download as soon as it’s ready without the traditional album.
Mehmaan is releasing via his independent label.
