Ensamble Criollo @ ignite, Royal Albert Hall’s free lively lunchtime series

This summer, the Royal Albert Hall introduces the third season of its free lively lunchtime music series, ignite, offering a wide range of styles to suit all musical tastes in the relaxed atmosphere of the Café Consort on most Fridays from June to August, 12 noon to 1.30pm.

Latin American group Ensamble Criollo are the only ensemble of their type in the country. Their musical style is called ‘Joropo’ or ‘Llanera Music’ which originally springs from a region in the west of Venezuela and describes the landscape and customs of the region using poetry fused with humour. The ensemble features the Latin American Harp, a cuatro (small guitar), bass and capachos (small maracas).
