An evening of vocal music with one of India’s finest musicians-Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Recognised as a prominent vocalist of India, this concert is a rare opportunity to hear a range of music forms at his only London date.

An evening of vocal music with one of India’s finest musicians. Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty’s passion for a wide range of musical styles, from Raga music through to Bhajans and film music, can clearly be heard in his expressive and melodious voice. Chakrabarty is dedicated to making Raga music accessible to all through Shrutinandan, his school serving over a 1000 talented children in addition to music lovers in residencies across the UK. One of the torchbearers of the Shrutinandan concept of teaching is his daughter, BBC World Music Award-winner Kaushiki Desikan. Panditji himself has received many awards, including the President’s Award for the best male playback singer in the 37th National Film Festival.

He will be accompanied by rising tabla player, Indranil Bhaduri, Brajeswar Mukherjee (Harmonium & vocal support), and Deborshi Bhattacharjee (Tanpura and vocal support).
