New Book Released about the Sikh Turban

Following the success of the Arts Council England exhibition “Turbanology: Sikhs Unwrapped” comes a new book highlighting the importance of the Sikh Turban (or Dastaar).

The full colour book – available now from Amazon.co.uk -catalogues the story of the Turban through art and photography. It builds on the work of the exhibition in raising awareness of the Turban through the art.

The 60 page A4 book includes a special letter from the Prime Minister David Cameron MP in recognition of the impact the British Sikh community have made to the country.

Commenting on the book, Exhibition Director and author Jay Singh-Sohal says, “Putting the art and editorial work of the exhibition into book format will enable more people to benefit from the project, including teachers and parents.”

This first edition, a limited edition for the exhibition, will see all proceeds going to the continued work of the “Turbanology” art project which is set to continue touring at venues around the UK in 2012.
