Tropical Island: Pirates Treasure and the Calypso Carnival

Tropical Island: Pirates Treasure and the Calypso Carnival

Tropical Island, the UK’s most colourful, interactive, musical theatre shows is back!

This enchanting, fantasy-island adventure is jam-packed with ‘sing-a-long’ calypso songs, tropical beats, colourful costumes, loveable characters – and an interactive storyline which is sure to delight all ages.

Tropical Island: Pirates Treasure and the Calypso Carnival, follows the adventures of, Monty Mango, Su Su Pineapple and Bernie Banana as they head to Penny Passion Fruit’s carnival at Paradise Beach. Armed with a map to the hidden treasure, the Tropical Islanders believe they can win the best carnival costume prize by finding sparkling jewels. Unfortunately, even in paradise, there is trouble… Bad Apple (who is rotten to the core) and Sour Grape (his slapstick side-kick) want the hidden treasure to help them win the carnival prize and spoil it for the audience.

Created by Terry Jervis, a former BBC television producer, (Smash Hits, the Real McCoy, Top Gear and Raising Tennis Aces: The Williams Story), the concept behind the production came about in 2001, when Terry decided to create a show which was both inspirational and fun: a mini-paradise, filled with sun, sea and fun, which children could identify with and believe existed. A special place they could visit anytime… their very own Tropical Island.

The production’s catchy, feel-good songs, which range from – Yellow Bird and Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) to The Wheels on the Bus and Row the Boat, will thrill both adults and children alike, and are guaranteed to have them doing the limbo and dancing in the aisles.
