Three and a half centuries after Samuel Pepys recorded for posterity his visit to an Italian puppet play in Covent Garden, multiculturalism has spawned a re- imagining of the Great British tradition of Punch and Judy.
Just as those first British puppeteers adapted the story of Punchinello to entertain their audiences with topical humour and razor sharp satire, a British Asian immigrant has re-worked the classic story of Punch & Judy to reflect the diversity of 21st century Britain.

The Bollywood style Punjeet & Judy-gee follows the travails of Punjeet, whose antiquated views on courtship, marriage, children and society are challenged by the audience and a host of colourful characters such as Judy-gee, his long suffering wife and Dr Singh (who makes you go Ping).

Unfortunately the stubborn Punjeet becomes comically irate when unable to cope with the ways of the modern world. He hilariously despatches the other characters and mocks the audience relentlessly until he meets his match in the Devil.

Will Punjeet spend eternity in torment for his sins or for once in his life do the right thing and defeat the Devil? Only the audience can decide.

The show features Hindi film music from the 1940s & 50s and Bollywood dancing is strongly encouraged.
