Shazia Mirza ‘Fun!’

Shazia Mirza

Award-winning comedienne, Shazia Mirza, hits artsdepot with her latest challenging show, fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe. Over the last few years Shazia has rapidly gained both national and international acclaim with her sharp, analytical comedy; cocking her snook at prejudice from both the Muslim and non-Muslim world she is fearless, quick-witted and unfailingly accurate.

Shazia trained at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in London and is in HUGE International demand for her stand-up act. She has performed in Berlin, Copenhagen, San Fransisco, Paris, Stockholm, and The Arosa Comedy Festival in Switzerland, and has appeared on television across Europe, the Far East and the USA. Shazia is also a regular on shows like Have I Got News for You and presented 10 Things you always wanted to know about Islam (But were afraid to ask) for BBC1.

Shazia is also carving out a successful acting career. She recently appeared in the Vagina Monologues at the Royal Albert Hall and played the role of Saddam Hussein’s wife in the Off-Broadway production of The Ruler of Saddam.
Shazia’s latest comedy show deals with fun, so expect plenty of it in this one-hour set.
