Paul’s electric, dry observational humour taps into multicultural contemporary Britain. Last year he made a definitive mark at the Edinburgh Festival, selling out his debut solo show followed with a further sell out at the prestigious Soho Theatre (West End, London). Paul’s courageous search for the absurd takes on issues such as racism, terrorism and religious fundamentalism, fuelling an eclectic set punctuated by impressive feats of mimicry and verbal dexterity. Paul Chowdhry is set to co-present the MTV Base Comedy weekend on Fri 16 to Sun 18 May and is also featuring in MTV’s The Young Gods of Comedy!
He has recently performed tours of Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahran, Doha, Amsterdam, Germany, South Africa. He is amongst the illustrious few comedians who have performed at Wembley Arena and The Grosvenor House before Cherie Blair and Richard Attenborough! In 2004 he starred in The World Stands Up and The All New Comedy Store for Channel Five, Paramount Comedy Channel and USA’s Comedy Central, becoming the first Asian Comedian to appear on the classic shows which have a huge world audience.
Paul has taken his talent to the big-screen too in high profile films such as: Rogue Trader with Ewan McGregor and Anna Friel, It Was An Accident alongside Thandie Newton and most recently Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich. Paul Chowdhry takes himself very seriously and considers himself a revolutionary: –
