Lunchbox Theatre Production, Money Makes You Happy

What’s Lunchbox? It’s a great opportunity for you to leave your desk and enjoy a bite of culture with your lunch. You can bring your own lunchbox or you can buy sandwiches, snacks, coffee or beer from our Café Bar. Performances start at 1pm and are about 45 minutes long. We have everything from classics to brand new pieces by up and coming writers. There’s something for everyone, all for just £5.

New Writing, Money Makes You Happy
Money Makes You Happy is Francis Beckett and Joanna Turner’s second collaboration on a play which is written during rehearsals. This means that nothing goes in just because it looks good on paper – it has to work on stage.

Jeremy, the once-fashionable author of Trekking to Paradise, has spent ten years buried deep in the countryside, failing to write his second book. His only connection with the big city was the smart and sexy corporate lawyer Ruth, who came down at weekends to share his grubby garret. When Ruth stops coming, Jeremy comes to London to find her. There’s a small child, of which he may or may not be the father, and if he wants to stay with Ruth, he’s going to have to learn to live among the frenzied collection of urban shysters, bigots and egomaniacs who make up her world.
