London To Host First Black Book Swap Event

London To Host First Black Book Swap Event

We love reading books about the black experience, books by black authors, books about and from all over the black world. We want to share our love with others. Our ambition is to celebrate the diversity and excellence of black literature and get people talking about the books and authors that have inspired them.
To this end we’re holding a book swap event on Saturday 3 March 2012.

Come and join us. Bring books that that you have enjoyed (or not) and swap them for others that are likely to inspire you too. Come along even if you don’t have a book to share – you’ll be able to buy any book for a discounted price.

As well as the book swap, the event will play host to other book related activities. There will be the chance to hear authors Alex Wheatle, Sonja Lewis, Chibundu Onuzo and blogger Bim Adewunmi discuss their favourite books, as well as a talk on self-publishing.

The book swap is open to all, and is organised by London based book lovers. This literary affair will be our special way of making World Book Day (1 March 2012) last a little bit longer.
