Hot favourites Diversity from ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent to be official ambassadors for Streetdance Weekend UK Championships 2009

Diversity, as seen on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, to act as ambassadors for the annual Street Dance Weekend UK Championships 2009. Diversity are the first group in the 14 year history of the championships to be appointed official ambassadors of the coveted event.
Diversity, 11 boys from Essex consisting of 3 sets of brothers, made a huge impact on everyone at the hit show Britain’s Got Talent, especially Simon Cowell and are now one of the hot favourites alongside Flawless, also a street dance group from the championships, to win.
Diversity are said to be delighted to be appointed as Street Dance Weekend UK Championships Ambassadors, as this was the event that inspired them to really come together as a group and realise their ambitions.

After attending the event as spectators in 2005 and seeing the best street dance groups compete in spectacular fashion, Diversity were inspired to come closer as a unit and under the choreography of Ashley Banjo entered the championships in 2007 and won in front of 3,500 spectators in London.

There will be an official press launch at the Royal Academy of Dance, on the 20th May 2009, as young hopefuls from across the UK get ready to audition for a chance to win the ultimate place at the finals in August. The press launch will feature Street Dance group ‘Diversity’, who will be taking time out from their publicity tour from ITV’s “Britain’s Got Talent” as ambassadors of the championships.

The championships has also helped launch established choreographers including Kenrick Sandy, who choreographed Pied Piper and has worked alongside Beverley Knight, Prince, and Britney Spears to name a few.

With recent success of ‘Street Dance’ in movies such as ‘Step Up 2’, ‘Stomp The Yard,’ ‘You’ve Got Served’ and ‘Save the Last Dance’ and many, many others; Vertigo Films (The Football factory, Bronson, Dirty Sanchez) will be building on the success of those movies by creating the UK’s first 3D Street Dance film based on the championships.
The film is set for cinema release in the summer of 2010 and will feature both previous champions Flawless and Diversity.

Event organiser, James Narh (G Force Productions) said “It’s good to see Diversity take an active role as Street Dance Weekend ambassadors, because they represent what the championship is about. Now Diversity will in turn inspire millions of others”.

With the street dance phenomenon winning high interest on ‘Britain’s got talent’ broadcasted to over 30 million nationally, as well as inspire major dance movies, this event is the most highly anticipated for 2009.

The young hopefuls taking part aspire for the chance to be seen by some of the UK’s top agencies and producers and follow in the success of Diversity and Flawless.

The Street Dance Weekend UK Championships 2009 will be held on 30th August 2009 for further details check the website.
