BEAUTY VERSUS CANCER non-profit initiative. Marked to make a difference on 8th of May 2014 on World Ovarian Cancer Day
After a shock diagnosis last October, Zaynab has embarked on a journey she believes will help change other women’s lives. After struggling for years with Gynae related illness, she was devastated to hear she had the deadly disease. She has since been fighting and on most part almost conquered her battle. She says “Although my fight is in no way finished just yet, I cannot allow such an important date to pass without making some noise! Raising awareness for early diagnosis are key to improved survival rates and we hope to do both.
Beauty Versus Cancer is hosting a one stop Beauty Playground. Split into Various Zones, visitors will be able to try out specially selected treatments.
You can get a Henna Tattoo at the Henna Bar, have a Make-Over, get your tresses tended, treat yourself to a Brow or Lash Treatment at the Brow Bar. Try some 3d nail art at the Nail Bar, book in for a skin consultation, relax and unwind with a massage, enjoy edible treats, workout in a Zumba class and of course indulge in some Retail Therapy.
If you are a budding Make-up Artist or simply want to learn some expert tips book in for one of our Master Classes and pick up tricks of the trade from Industry Leaders and meet the Experts. The Workshops are informal, relaxed and informative.
If you thought that was good, we have even more news! Just so that mums attending can fully enjoy the day. We are creating a Princess Spa for little Angels! They can enjoy mini manicures with nail art, try out a fruity face mask, or get their hair braided. For the little there will be face painting and plenty of activities to keep them busy whilst they get pampered!
Joining Zaynab on this mission are some wonderful Brand Ambassadors.

Funds raised are in support of Target Ovarian Cancer, the UK-wide charity working to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and help those women diagnosed.

And The Eve Appeal, The Eve Appeal is the only national UK charity dedicated to funding world-class research and raising awareness of all five gynaecological cancers. We continue to fund our core research unit at the Department of Women’s Cancer based at University College London (UCL) and more recently have invested in the internationally collaborative PROMISE (Predicting Risk of Ovarian Malignancies, Improved Screening and Early detection) 2016 study that involves scientists at five pre-eminent academic centres in both the UK and the USA: The project seeks to improve ovarian cancer outcomes by identifying at-risk populations, and developing and refining models for both predicting a woman’s risk of developing ovarian cancer and for earlier diagnosis of the disease. There is real hope that PROMISE 2016’s findings will enable a recommendation to the NHS for a future ovarian screening programme in the UK. www.eveappeal.org.uk
