DIVERSE MAGAZINE LAUNCHES DIVERSE TOP 50 BLACK MERSEYSIDERS

Diverse magazine, based in Merseyside and hailed as one of the UK’s leading magazines for the promotion of diversity, today announced the launch of its Diverse Top 50© series of surveys aimed at highlighting top performers in diversity management. The first survey will, quite fittingly list the Top 50 Black Merseysiders, paying tribute to the contribution that black people in Merseyside have made to British society.
Garth Dallas, Editor and founder of Diverse magazine and Diverse Top 50© said, “We decided to compile the Top 50 Black Merseysiders list because we want to demonstrate the fact that inspirational and charismatic black men and women have contributed greatly to the city, region, country and the world.”

“Many of our readers have questioned why the recently produced Merseyside Power Lists have failed to include black people, when they know that many black Merseysiders have also made significant contributions.”

“The Diverse Top 50 Black Merseysiders list will certainly redress that imbalance.”

The new dedicated voting website is also launched today (www.diversetop50.co.uk) and offers an easy, user-friendly method of voting. In addition thousands of voting forms are being distributed across Merseyside to ensure wide participation from across the entire region.

Voters will also stand a chance of winning the hugely attractive prize of a holiday to Jamaica, drawn from all voting entries of participants over the age of 18 years old.

The organisers are looking for individuals, past and present, from all walks of life, including politics, entertainment, sport, music, literature, education, business, public/community life.

Voting closes on October 31st , the final list will be published in December 2008, in the Diverse magazine as well as on the magazine’s website www.diversemag.co.uk

The individual with the most votes will also be inducted in the Diverse magazine Black Hall of Fame.
