Asian Sports Awards nominee, footballer Vanisha Patel, 15 from Kent at the Oval cricket ground in south London ahead of next month's British Asian Sports Awards, scheduled to take place on 16th Feb 2008.

The nominees who have made it through the first round of judging have been selected from hundreds of UK entrants. The sporting hopefuls are competing to be shortlisted for one of BASA's (British Asian Sports Awards) ten unique award categories, which include the coveted British Asian Sports Personality of the Year.

British Asian sporting stars are recognised thorough British Asian Sports Awards (BASA)

London, January 14th 2008 – BASA prides itself on recognising and celebrating the substantial achievements of British Asian sporting talents from across the United Kingdom. As well as honouring professional British Asian sportspersons, BASA shall be the unique institute for raising the profile of talented amateur and semi-professional South Asians involved in sport, who may not previously have received the recognition that their efforts have deserved.


The awards are scheduled to take place on Feb 16th at the Park Lane Hilton - over 800 VIPs, sporting figures and celebrities will attend.
