Empowering Youth to Make a Positive Difference to Society

The Generation Next Foundation, a non-profit organisation that has been set up to empower urban youth and to help stem the wave of gang culture, will be launched next week (12th March) in London’s Soho.
The Generation Next Foundation is the brainchild of two brothers from south London – Hamdi and Ludvig Bonin, who are passionate about driving positive social change that will help urban youth to achieve their highest potential. A central tenet of the organisation is to address the lack of activities that currently exist for young people outside of the school and college environment, by providing programmes that enable the development of skills in film production and fashion design. In addition to empowering them with the tools to pursue their dreams and ambitions, the programmes instil the importance of social responsibility into the consciousness of each person.

To give a real insight into the fashion industry, The Generation Next Foundation has set up a fashion label, Belvedere Clothing. Working directly with fashion schools within the UK, budding designers will be able to submit innovative and cutting-edge styles, which if selected will be distributed and sold within high street stores. Belvedere Clothing will then offer the designer a percentage of the profit made by their design, giving young people the chance to see their work in stores around the country and a financial resource to complete their studies.

Generation Next Productions will give young people that have a keen interest in film production and social affairs the chance to produce their own social documentaries - tackling the subjects that matter to them most -and at the same time creating a vehicle and platform to drive positive change within their own communities.

To enhance the work of The Generation Next Foundation, the organisation has developed a fully interactive social media forum for youth to communicate. At Spotliet.com, young people can take ownership of any agenda of their choosing and share their opinions, news and uploaded content with each other in a safe and free environment.

Speaking about the launch of the organisation, Hamdi Bonin co-founder and chair of the Generation Next Foundation Board of Trustees commented: “The Generation Next Foundation is for young people from all backgrounds to utilise the resources that we provide to be the best they can be in life. Instead of demonising youth, we believe it is important to encourage them to take ownership of their destiny, make a positive impact on their communities and to provide them with a platform where their voices can be heard.”
