Accessible music industry professional development courses offered to new entrants and industyites interested in increasing their knowledge of specific subjects
Following on from issues raised at the Black Music Congress (BMC) forum at City University London in January, BritishBlackMusic.com and BTWSC are offering four half-day Out Of The Box music industry courses particularly designed for those that don't have much time, but want to get a good handle on key music industry knowledge.

“The importance of music industry knowledge was stressed repeated at our forum, hence the introduction of these short, very focused courses,” says BMC founder Kwaku.

The tutor is an NVQ Assessor, with masters in Music Business Management, Entertainment Law, and over 30 years music industry experience, including 15 years of running seminars, and courses right up to post-graduate level.

The four 3-hour industry-focused, professional development courses cost £25 each, and take place in small classes based in north-west London. Each course has input from industry personnel.

The courses are aimed at anyone, irrespective of prior knowledge, race, age, gender, or employment status. The only criteria is that applicants must be self-motivated and interested in the subject.

Subjects covered on March 28 are: Music Publishing & Copyright, and Marketing & PR. March 31: Record Label Management, and Artist Management.
