The illustrious Kanhai family celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of Govind Kanhai at Vrindavan, Mathura in an elaborate party that was attended by celebrities and VIP guest, veteran BJP leader Sri L.K. Advani.
The event was marked by special performances by TV celebrity Sangeeta Ghosh of ‘Des mein nikla hoga chand’ fame and south Indian actress Priyadarshini. Rucha Gujarati, well known for her performances in ‘Kkusum’ and ‘Bhabhi’ flew down especially from Mumbai to be a part of the celebration.
Sangeeta Ghosh and her troupe of dancers enthralled guests with special dance performances from popular films such as‘ ‘Chori Chori’, ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikander’, ‘Pakeezah’, ‘Mughal-e- azam’, ‘Devdas’ covering the romantic era of Bollywood from the 1950’s to the present. There was a lavish spread of delicacies from all over the world including traditional favourite dishes from Mathura that was relished by more than 250 guests.
The event not only marked the 25th wedding anniversary of artist Govind Kanhai but was also a reminder of the contribution that the Kanhai family has made in reviving the charm of the withered tradition of gold paintings.
