BTWSC's NARM Project provides forum for highlighting role models

Brent-based voluntary organisation BTWSC's Heritage Lottery Funded NARM (Naming And Role Models) Project needs your role model nominations and participation at its Do We Need Role Models? open discussion on Feb. 19.
Some have described President Barack Obama as the "ultimate role model". But who are the British male roles of African descent?

BTWSC's NARM Project hopes to uncover role models closer to home, be they famous or unsung from 1907 to 2007. The results will be compiled into free resources including a booklet and DVD, and updated on a dedicated online micro-site.

The general public have up to Feb. 28 2009 to make their nominations at www.btwsc.com/NARM, where further information and rules can be found.

Furthermore, BTWSC is offering a space for discussion with the Do We Need Role Models? event on Thursday Feb. 19, 6.30-8.30 at The Space, Willesden Green Library Centre. Young people, parents and teachers are especially welcome to the free event, which with the help of special guests, will discuss the value of role models and highlight some role models over the last century.

To book, make a nomination, or for further information: www.btwsc.com/NARM.
