The sensational live band that fuses Bollywood glamour with the charm of soul, Botown drew in Southall locals with a funky, innovative performance from the roof of legendary Jas Musicals, The Broadway on Saturday 4th September 2010. Botown, consist of eight multi-talented band members who strive to bring soulful vibes to a Bollywood mix. Band front-man, Ajay Srivastava, founded the group in 2009 and in this short period Botown has secured sell-out gigs at prestigious venues including Jazz Café and Watermans Theatre. Ajay’s portfolio also includes working alongside superstars, Jamiroquai, Gregory Isaacs and Bollywood giant, Shah Rukh Khan! Speaking about Saturday’s performance, Ajay said: “It was an awesome experience for me and the band. Playing at such a height is a real buzz as you can see for miles around you. The crowd rocked out too and loved every minute of the performance. It’s the first time we’ve ever tried something like this… but it won’t be the last!” Saturday’s high-level performance is being used as a video-shoot for the band’s forthcoming single Jhalak, which is to feature on their album, The Soul of Bollywood. The album is due for release on 27th November 2010. |
