British Black Music Month Successfully Launched

A variety of events, ranging from music industry masterclasses, networking, discussions, concerts and a film night, form part of British Black Music Month 2009
British Black Music Month (BBMM) was succssfully launched with performances by acts including R&B singer-songwriter Obenewa, and rock-fusion singer-songwriter Eden Rox on May 31 during the Swing Baby live music and networking session at Bar Music Hall in Shoreditch, east London. BBMM takes place throughout June. It's an initiative started by BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress in 2006 as a way of promoting British black music and highlighting issues, through discussions, album anatomies, courses, seminars, live performances, club nights, a radio shows, etc.

2009 will focus especially on legal and business opportunities. Confirmed events include six half day masterclasses covering a range of music industry subjects. There's an Anatomy Of A Trailblazing British Black Music Album, in which former Linx singer David Grant and some of those responsible for the success of Linx's 'Intuition' reflect on their role.

There will be live concerts, a pre-clubbing night club, discussions, competitions on the BritishBlackMusic.com website, a film show, and several radio specials.
