JCC Balagan Boogaloo

Images Video Audio
Balagan Boogaloo has been the hit of the downtown Sephardic Music Festival in New York for many years. It is a night run by DJ Handler and MC Y-Love, combining the most exciting, stereotype defying music from around the world.
In October 2007 the Jewish Community Centre for London brought the night here and four DJS played to a packed crowd at the Play Bar in Old Street. Now the night returns at a bigger venue with a fatter sound system – The Chapel Bar in Angel.

We are joined by three massively varied DJs – DJ Equal I (The End) who plays Afrobeat, Latin and the occasional Opera classic, LMT (The Egg, Turnmills) whose blend of Drum n Bass and House kept the crowd dancing for hours in October and Sacha Dieu who is a big name on the World music circuit, recently playing the BBC World Music Awards. His night Stranger than Paradise combines Klezmer, Gypsy and Bollywood classics.
