After a phenomenally successful series of UK Yoga workshops, Swami Ramdev, Internationally renowned Yoga master and Aastha Broadcasting Network, India’s leading Faith Channel, will return to India safe in the knowledge they will be back in the UK to hold a second series. Held at venues in Ilford, Leicester, Bolton and Harrow, thousands of the UK public attended the landmark Yoga and Pranayam workshops to experience true Yoga at the hand of a master. Swami Ramdev’s ability to simplify techniques for the masses was witnessed by the UK public validating benefits of Yoga - the ancient art and science of purification and strengthening of the body, mind and soul - and Pranayam - a series of breathing techniques combined with Aasanas [postures] from ancient Indian Vedic Sciences. Brought to you by Aastha TV, the exclusive broadcasters of his Indian workshops, presenting Swami Ramdev to the UK was an easy and natural progression with no gains other than a worldwide mission to “eradicate mental and physical illness”. The impetus behind this UK Yoga tour was purely to meet with the demands of Swami Ramdev’s UK-based followers and to raise funds for the ‘Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust’, registered by the Charity Commission of England and Wales. Swami Ramdev, is founder of the Patanjali Yog Peeth, a world-class Yoga centre in Northern India, dubbed as ‘the World’s largest Yoga Institute’. It currently provides comprehensive facilities for intensive and extensive scientific research and development into Yoga and Ayurveda as well as educational degree and diploma courses to over 1,000 students. The objectives for the ‘Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust’, is to promote the very same within the UK in order to protect and alleviate mental and physical illness. Attendance to each workshop was gained through donor passes, with all monies raised going to support the activities of registered charities in India and ‘Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust’. Donor passes entitled one to attend either all morning sessions or all evening sessions for the whole week. Swami Ramdev made a conscience effort to meet and speak with as many sick and needy people as humanly possible who had attended the workshops. Aastha TV has had exclusive broadcast rights for Swami Ramdev’s Indian Yoga workshops since 2003 via two dedicated timeslots in over 160 countries on the global Aastha TV networks. Due to this, they have become synonymous household names in India and by the response in the UK, they will now be a staple on UK screens. Aastha TV portrays India's strong heritage of the Panchtatva of nature and how it relates to the human body and soul. The belief and understanding of spiritualism arousing immense power within to aid peace and tranquillity, is key in finding a life beyond material existence. Aastha TV aims to uplift human life in all its spheres by exposing and reminding people all over the world of the traditional Indian culture of faith and health. In supporting these workshops, Aastha TV has spread the good work of Swami Ramdev. |
