By combining the traditional techniques of highly skilled artisans with trend-led design, all pieces reflect an expression of individuality and add character to any contemporary environment, which they believe to be essential for today’s spaces and places. The desire for craftsmanship, longevity and exclusivity is an antidote to today’s throwaway society, with this in mind all pieces are made using natural materials and are handcrafted to the highest quality to last a lifetime, not just a season. Interiors A mix of hand-carved marble bowls such as the ‘deep offset bowl’ and the ‘organic plate set’, hand-painted silk pictures signed by the artist and a range of exclusive tables, understated luxury with a simple pure amethyst side table on slick brass tripod legs, or a statement marble coffee table with exquisite inlay work in mother of pearl. With each table being made to order, artwork can be designed to a clients needs and with an array of semi precious stones to choose from like rose quartz, malachite, onyx and cornelian, the sky is the limit when it comes to inlay. Exteriors Exterior pieces are made from sandstone in an array of colour options, from subtle light shades through to the amazing signature colour “rainbow”, which shows its natural beauty best when wet. The contemporary range, which includes tables, benches, simple planters and spheres to intricately carved jali wall panels, will enhance any exterior space. All items can be tailor-made for private or commercial clients. Reclaimed Personally sourced and cherry-picked for their beauty, uniqueness and heritage, all reclaimed furniture and artifacts are statement pieces in their own right. Currently in stock at their showroom, you can see an amazing pair of wooden palace doors and a gorgeously cute yellow painted wooden bed, with spindle legs and headboard. All pieces will enhance, add character and individuality to any space, whether contemporary or eclectic. From fashion to furniture………. Owner Carolyn Parmar’s career began in fashion where she spent over a decade working across the industry as a womenswear designer. During which time she was responsible for designing many product areas including ‘occasion wear’ which involved creating intricate artworks for embroidery and embellishments and Tailoring & Outerwear which demanded high technical ability and extensive understanding of pattern cutting and manufacturing. Her work involved extensive travel, sourcing, developing, trade shows and trend predicting. Gaining extensive knowledge and experience within her time as a designer Carolyn’s one true passion was and still is, to create beautiful things which next led her into creating couture gowns for prestigious clients worldwide. This combined with her thirst for travel and culture and passion for design, naturally evolved into the totally new product area of Interiors. Realising that applying the same design process and principles from her fashion background, could be the start of a new, fresh and exciting business that today is parmar&parmar. Whilst on an extensive trip around India, Carolyn spotted the potential to develop a new type of product combining the country’s beautiful materials and the skills of the local artisans. Over the next three years, making further sourcing and researching trips to develop and refine the design and quality of the products. ‘It was quite a process,’ says Carolyn. ‘Getting the suppliers to really understand what we were trying to achieve was initially a real challenge. We needed to explain that ‘less could be more’ when working with beautiful, natural materials. When they started to make the first few samples, we saw how our vision had unfolded – they got it. Since then, we’ve shared the same goal – to create truly inspirational leading edge interior/exterior furniture and adornments. Eco aspect parmar&parmar’s desire for craftsmanship, longevity and exclusivity is an antidote to today’s throwaway society. With this in mind, all pieces are made using natural materials and are handcrafted to the highest quality so they will last a lifetime and not a season. Eco principle: New = longevity Reclaimed = reuse - - All the quarries, from which stone acquired from, have a policy that once they have been exhausted, they will be turned into nature reserves. - As everything is handcrafted, little or no electricity is used when creating pieces. - All the pallets that the shipments are delivered on are reclaimed wood. - Endeavour to reuse all the packaging that is received in shipments.
