For the third year running the Scottish Curry Awards are teaming up with the Scottish Spina Bifida Association and all funds raised on the evening will be going to the charity. Since its inception in 2008 the Scottish Curry Awards have raised over £14,600 for the association and 2010’s Love Curry presents The Scottish Curry Awards promises to be no different. Speaking about the upcoming awards, international chef and TV personality Gordon Ramsay, Honorary Patron of the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, said “a few months ago, I flew to Delhi to film Gordon’s Great Escape and became an apprentice to various Indian chefs. It was a truly inspirational experience and I came across the most amazing combinations of tastes and flavours. This evening, by combining food and fundraising, you have a guaranteed recipe for success and I wish all nominees the best of luck and thank everyone who donates to my favourite Scottish charity." Among the range of awards on offer is Chef of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Restaurant of the Year, Takeaway of the Year and Curry Lover of the Year, which in 2009 graciously went to First Minister, Alex Salmond.
