Nominations for the 3rd annual Scottish Curry Awards are now open

The Scottish Curry Awards nominations are now open. To download a nomination form please visit: www.lovecurry.info. Nominations can be sent in via email or post. Nominations close 19th April 2010.

The awards will be presented to the winners at The Scottish Curry Awards on the 10th of May at The Thistle Hotel, Glasgow.
With the 2009 Awards receiving an impressive 5000 nominations from the Scottish public nominations for the following categories are expected to flood in the coming weeks:

Curry Lover of the Year
Curry Lover of the Year Award celebrates Scotland’s biggest Curry fiend – an individual that is a genuine fruit loop for curry!

Best Supermarket Curry Award
Best Supermarket Curry Award pays homage to the Supermarket that serves up the yummiest own brand Curry ready-meal.

Team of the Year
Team of the Year Award recognises and rewards the commitment and dedication of the restaurant’s entourage who provide a service where excellence is standard.

Chef of the Year
Chef of the Year Award honours the Chef whose culinary delights have tantalised, titillated and bewitched the Scottish public’s taste buds.

Take Away of the Year
Take Away of the Year Award recognises and heartily commends those who’s gastronomic delights grace the dining tables, the living rooms and the laps in Scotland’s homes.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Lifetime Achievement Award commemorates a life time of work and dedication to the Curry Industry – an individual whose actions have furthered and developed the industry.

Restaurant of the Year
Restaurant of the Year Award honours the restaurant which serves up the finest Curry cuisine and atmosphere in Scotland.

Curry King or Queen 2010
Curry King or Queen 2010 Award hails the dawn of an individual who has engrossed themselves in the Curry Industry and successfully emerged at the forefront of the industry.

Competition is expected to be of the highest calibre in 2010 with past winners including: Alex Salmond receiving the Curry Lover of the Year Award 2009; Curry King of the Year 2009 Mr. Balbir Singh Sumal; Lifetime Achievement Award 2008 Charan Gill; 2008 Curry Queen of the Year, Nasreen Aksi.
