STOP PRESS:

After its huge success at box offices earlier this year, The Infidel has made the top 5 on the DVD new releases chart in its first week of sales, selling more than 14,000 copies. This places the film at #22 on the overall DVD charts and #6 on iTunes.

The Infidel has also been shortlisted for ‘UK PR Campaign of the Year’ and ‘Premiere of the Year’ at the Screen Marketing & Distribution Awards 2010, and is up against box office giants such as Avatar and Kick Ass, the first ethnic film of its kind to do so.

The Infidel stars British-Iranian actor and general ‘funny man’ Omid Djalili (The Mummy, Gladiator) as Muslim family man ‘Mahmud Nasir’, who discovers he was adopted at birth, and that he is actually Jewish!

The DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Infidel includes never before seen backstage footage, Baddiel’s video diary and hilarious stand-up comedy from the world premiere at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.

Arvind Ethan David, the film’s producer, commented “I am delighted with the continued success of The Infidel – our first week sales and Screen International Award nominations are testament to the popularity of the film, the theme of which people from all backgrounds can relate to – regardless of race and religion, we are all ultimately human first and foremost.”

The Infidel is available to purchase in stores and online on Blu-Ray and DVD now.
