Birmingham has been chosen as the platform to host the first ever Miss Bollywood UK Beauty Pageant. The contest will be held on the evening of Saturday 29th August 2009 at the prestigious International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham. This promises to be a very high profile event with many A-list artists and VIP's attending.
This will not just be another beauty pageant, but an evening filled with celebrity acts and spectacular fashion show displaying the collection of ‘SarvAtelier’ - all the way from India! (Their outfit have been worn by some of the biggest stars from Bollywood and beyond - With names such as screen icon Aishwariya Rai and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, One of their highest profile clients to date has been Liz Hurley, one of the world’s most recognised women).
The Miss Bollywood UK is the concept of Zia Choudhury, MD of Exclusively Bollywood in partnership with Kully Kaur, MD of Premier Consulting and was founded with the ideals of encouraging young women to build self confidence and esteem and polishing one’s personal appearance and presentation skills. All these skills and qualities are requisite for success in any lifetime endeavour. Miss Bollywood UK was developed to help women achieve these goals, which will in turn help launch their dream of working with the Indian Film Industry.
Zia Choudhury says, “This will be a diverse competition as applications will be accepted from all backgrounds providing you meet the set criteria. We will have people from the fashion, beauty and film industry along with celebrities as the judging panel. The contestants will be judged on Best Smile, Best Talent, Best Hair, Best Catwalk, Best Personality and Miss Photogenic.”
Kully Kaur says, “The contestants will show by example that anyone can achieve anything that they set out to do with the right attitude. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning communication skills, and setting and achieving personal goals. Miss Bollywood UK will celebrate beauty, elegance with creativity, abundance of colour, culture, and an extravaganza of glamour and fashion.
This will be a beauty pageant with exclusive prizes. The winner will be launched into a Bollywood Film by, UK Film Productions, £10,000 prize money and one year’s modelling contract with a modelling agency in India and also automatically entered into Miss Universe (GB) 2010 competition plus various other prizes.
Competition heats will be taking place in London, Birmingham, and Manchester (venue’s to be announced)
