“The War of Colours” set to shake London’s fashion scene

Rohit K Verma’s latest clash of cross cultural couture from the SARV Atelier collection is to launch in London this week, after a sell out show in Birmingham left the West Midlands in a fashion frenzy.
Globally renowned, charismatic Indian fashion designer Rohit K Verma, fresh from a breathtaking catwalk at the International Convention Center (ICC) in Birmingham is now set to take the capital by storm with his brand new collection - “The War of Colours”. The new line is the product of SARV Atelier, which houses the combined creations of Verma and fellow fashion visionary Sanjeet Anand, wife of one of India’s most recognised music producers, Harry Anand. The combination of Verma and Anand is compelling in the latest range of what can only be described as “east meets west” fashion, a clash of Eastern and Western influences, the hallmark of Rohit K Verma. The new collection will be on the catwalk in London for the very first time at the inaugural Asian Style Awards, where Rohit Verma’s SARV Atelier will be closing the show, testament to his status as an international style icon of the 21st Century.

At the recent British Asian Hafta Awards in Birmingham, Rohit Verma captured the imagination of elite guests from all around the country with a stunning catwalk. The awards, which celebrate the achievements and contributions of Britain’s South Asian community was the designer’s first show in the West Midlands, which boasts a strong South Asian contingent. And it was clear to see the impact “The War of Colours” made on the evening with Verma receiving a rapturous reception from the audience as he later presented the award for Best Female Employer.

“Having Rohit K Verma at this year’s British Asian Hafta was fantastic. He put on an inspiring show which exemplifies modern South Asian fashion, a fusion of many different cultures and influences. And by giving some of the girls from the local community a chance to model on his catwalk, he has become a true role model in the world of fashion here in multicultural Birmingham.” says Kully Kaur, organiser of this year’s British Asian Hafta Awards.

After storming the catwalks in Mumbai for over 10 years, the designs of Rohit Verma are known globally, being worn by some of the biggest stars from Bollywood and beyond. With names such as screen icon Aishwariya Rai and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen amongst his fans in India, Verma’s highest profile client to date has been Liz Hurley, one of the world’s most recognised women. But not content with dressing some of the most beautiful actresses on the planet, Rohit Verma will be acting in a new Bollywood movie himself! The designer will make a cameo appearance in a movie which is released nationwide this weekend, the aptly title “Fashion” which stars former Miss World Priyanka Chopra.

An enigmatic personality, a creative fashion visionary, a pioneer of global cross cultural fashion, there are many ways to describe Rohit K Verma. In the UK he is now developing a core clientele of both Asian and Non-Asian origin, proving that he is versatile and appealing to a wide audience. And after successful shows in London, Birmingham, Mumbai, New York and Sydney, the year ahead bodes well for one of India’s most loved fashion personalities.

Rohit K Verma and Sanjeet Anand’s latest collection from SARV Atelier, “The War of Colours” will be available for viewing to all interested parties from Wednesday 29th October till Sunday 2nd November at The Business Suite, 19 Western Gateway (Docklands) E16 1AR.
